Progress over perfection, babyyy! ✨ Let’s talk about it!!!
Here’s what I did to see results, focusing on one thing at a time while doing my best in every category until I could really dedicate a week to each:
1. High Impact Exercising
I got my body moving!! So, I started walking, sprinting, and eventually running every single morning. It really was less about running and more about increasing endurance & my willingness to move regularly
2. Discipline Over Motivation
After week one ended, so did my motivation, and that’s when discipline kicked in. I stopped thinking about what I had to do and just got up and did it! I STOPPED MAKING EXCUSES! Hello!! Needless to say, it paid off.
3. Decreasing Body Fat by Tracking Every Single Calorie (On a Deficit)
I searched for a calorie tracker online, put in my goal to lose body fat, and it told me how many calories I needed to eat in a day. I followed that like a religion and paired it with my workouts—it became as common as my Bible studies! Woohoo! That body fat is GONE, HONEY!!! Time to build dat muscle now.
4. Water Intake
Water. WATER WATER!! Is the center of life. It determines whether I have a headache or energy for workouts. I started tracking how many bottles I drank a day—it was uncomfortable at first because I wasn’t used to drinking nearly as much water, but I got used to it.
5. Ab Exercises
I hated ab exercises, but I had to suck it up and do them. Then, out of nowhere, they started to be fun!! Plus, I’ve always loved showcasing my ab/waist area in my outfits, which gave me motivation to work on them and boost my confidence.
6. Low Impact Exercise Prioritization
I came to realize that less is more. I actually burned more belly fat walking than running?!!! It was easier and more enjoyable?? Whaaa? Definitely helped my goals and was gentler on my knees.
7. Gym Progress
Joining a fitness girl’s program was the best thing I could’ve done. She provided me with exercises, reps, and guidance. It changed my life!
